Becky & Lee

This is one of the very first wedding locations that we filmed at, and we always enjoy being asked to return to film at this location, the church has some great character and fantastic features.

Towering stained glass windows overlook either end of the church, allowing enough natural light to flow thorough the entire open space to make it ideal for filming. The aisle is lined with great big white pillars leading to the alter which has a magnificent arch over looking the congragation.

The tower at the entrance to the church was built in the mid fifteenth century, and stands nearly 80 feet high. The tower is a prominent landmark as you enter or leave Wokingham by the London Road, and thousands of people pass it every day.

Facts:

Wokingham means 'Wocca's peoples' home'. Wocca was apparently a Saxon chieftain who also owned lands at Wokefield in Berkshire and Woking in Surrey.

In Victorian times, it was known as Oakingham and an acorn with oak leaves is the town's symbol.

The Wheelwrights were the first family to found the town and give it the name of Wokingham.
